Chaplain Supervisor – North Texas

The Harris Methodist Health System CPE Center is part of Texas Health Resources and conducts Level I, Level II and Supervisory programs of CPE. Programs are offered through first and second year residencies, summer internships and part-time extended units. While CPE programs are based at Texas Health Harris Fort Worth, residents and interns are placed at other Texas Health Resource entities within the Fort Worth area.
Texas Health Resources is currently seeking a Chaplain Supervisor (Job Id# 24959).
The qualified candidate will have the following:
1. Masters of Divinity
2. Five (5) years as CPE Supervisor and Chaplain preferred
3. Ordained and endorsed by ecclesial authorities as appropriate; certified supervisor or associate supervisor by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc
Job Duties:
- Provide pastoral supervision of CPE students
- In collaboration with CPE Center Manager, develop curriculum and educational resources to address students’ learning goals, guided by the Outcomes for Levels I, II and Supervisory CPE as state in the current ACPE Standards
- Maintains good standing with ordaining judicatory and maintains connection with and membership in the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church
- In collaboration and cooperation with entity pastoral care directors and staff chaplains, assess ministries of CPE students for quantity and quality
- Collaborate with and assist CPE Center Manager in recruiting students for all program levels
- Assist CPE Center Manager in selection of students for all program levels
- In collaboration with CPE Center Manager, attend seminary CPE events and any other community/denominational event that will benefit HMHS CPE Center recruiting
- Facilitate staff chaplain’s oversight and mentoring of CPE students
- Collaborate with and assist HMHS CPE Center Manager with overall administration of Center including curriculum and program design, accreditation and budget management
- Submit required reports in timely fashion
- Ensure that students meet their financial and attendance commitments to the CPE Program and HMHS entities.
- In consultation with the CPE Center Manager and the Professional Advisory Group (PAG), monitor all programs of CPE to ensure ACPE Standard compliance
- Assist with maintenance of all learning agreements and required documentation
- Assist with Medicare Pass-through reporting in respective entities
- In consultation with the Manager of CPE represent the HMHS CPE Center to leadership at community/parish placement sites
- When student utilizes a community/parish site to fulfill the required clinical hours, ensure that all administrative requirements are met including the organization and utilization of the on-site observation group
